How Presight's AI platform transformed NCEMA's fragmented operations into a unified national system.
THE CHALLENGE:
NCEMA's emergency operations were fragmented across agencies — relying on manual hospital coordination, phone-based bed checks, and disconnected systems. No standardised response-time target existed, predictive capability was limited, and growing emergency volumes were straining an already manual workflow, resulting in delayed patient allocation and slower response.
THE PRESIGHT SOLUTION
Presight built an integrated Emergency and Crisis Management platform unifying prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery in one system:
→ Emergency call centre integration — calls, SMS, alerts, and app reports unified in one workflow.
→ Intelligent ambulance dispatch — nearest unit, traffic-aware routing, real-time hospital capacity.
→ Unified command and control — GIS intelligence, resource allocation, multi-agency coordination.
→ Operational intelligence — sensor feeds, geospatial analytics, predictive models, live dashboards.

Rather than deploying a standalone emergency response application, Presight implemented an integrated Emergency and Crisis Management platform that connects prevention, preparedness, response and recovery within a single operating environment. The project unified multiple operational functions that had previously relied on disconnected systems and manual coordination, creating a shared platform for emergency services to manage incidents from detection through to resolution.
To achieve this, Presight integrated emergency call centres so that calls, SMS alerts and app-based incident reports feed into one operational workflow. It introduced AI-powered ambulance operations capable of identifying the nearest available ambulance, analysing live traffic conditions, assessing hospital capacity and recommending the most appropriate patient destination in real time. At the command level, the platform established a unified command-and-control capability, bringing together GIS intelligence, resource allocation and multi-agency coordination within a single interface.
The platform also embedded operational intelligence across the emergency response process by integrating live sensor feeds, geospatial analytics, predictive models and real-time dashboards. These capabilities provide continuous visibility into incident severity, resource availability and hospital readiness, enabling emergency responders and decision-makers to coordinate operations using a shared, real-time operational picture rather than manual processes.
